We are at the conclusion of a Stage 1 complaint running against X Children's Services where they have admitted that the Comprehensive Assessment contains many inaccuracies and we have evidenced several untruths (we have not been allowed to see the S47 Report despite being requested by a SAR)
They have concluded that despite the identified inaccuracies this doesn't invalidate the original decision making and had the social worker remained in post they would have had opportunity to address and improve practice, but as the SW has left they are unable or unwilling to do anything.
They are offering as the 'most appropriate course of action' the completion of a new assessment to allow a fuller and more accurate parental perspective to be included and to also take into account any changes since the original assessment. We have now requested the complaint be moved to Stage 2.
However, as the original Comprehensive Assessment has subsequently been used to underpin a S5 Strategy Meeting as my Wife is both a Teacher and Guide Leader this has resulted in loss of employment and subsequent severe financial loss and reputational damage.
We are really struggling to find a Solicitors to advise in this case and potentially look at litigation and/or Judicial Review - every firm we have approached via the Law Society have said they do not deal with such matters.
We would really appreciate if anyone can recommend any Solicitors that deal with this kind of case.

Re: Struggling to find a Solicitor
Dear Funkyspider
Thank you for posting on Family Rights Group parents’ discussion forum.
I am sorry that you and your family have experienced difficulties following children’s services involvement. You made a formal complaint and obtained records and you have requested to go to the second stage of the complaint’s procedure.
From the location you mentioned in your post (this was removed to ensure confidentiality) you do not fall within the remit of our service as we offer advice relating to England. Also, we do not recommend solicitors and would not be able to do so for your area. It might help if you are considering judicial review if you look for solicitors who practice administrative law.
This is our useful links for services in your area and one of whom might be able to assist you.
I am sorry that we are unable to offer you advice as your issue falls outside the remit of our service. I hope you will be able to get advice and have a good outcome for you and your family.
Best wishes
Suzie

Re: Struggling to find a Solicitor
Almost impossible to get a solicitor to do this unless you are going through issue that relate to family law and with LA right now. They do not take on cases to sue at moment. You can do stage 3 yourself
