Working Together

If children's services are involved with you and your child, you may need to work alongside different professionals. The information on these pages will give you tips about how best to prepare for this.

These working together pages include easy to follow information about:

  • How to work well with your child’s social worker and what to do if that relationship is not going well
  • When you may need help from a legal representative (a solicitor), how you can find a solicitor and what you can expect from them working with them
  • The additional support that an advocate can offer and when the help of an advocate can be useful.

There is also information about how a family group conference (FGC) can help you and your family be involved in making plans to keep your child safely cared for within their family.
