Patricia Hanley

Pat qualified with a postgraduate Diploma in Social Work in 1984 and has a degree in Sociology. Working for 10 years as a Probation Officer/ Court Welfare Officer for both Northumbria and Cumbria Probation Services she was subsequently employed as a Guardian Ad Litem/Reporting Officer in the North East between 1995 and 1999. Pat qualified as a Family Mediator in 1995 and was employed by Northumberland and Tyneside Family Mediation Service.

Pat is the Chief Executive Officer for Families in Care a Tyneside charity that provides independent Advocacy, Support and Counselling for birth families involved with Child Protection Services. Pat has been a Tutor for the Social Work Programme at Durham University since 2000. Having an interest in Mindfulness Pat is currently studying for an MSc in Mindfulness Studies with Aberdeen University.
