My grandson is 16 on a child protection plan he has come to live with us his grandparents we don't believe the protection plan is needed now he is living with us we have asked social services to remove the protection plan and they have refused is there anyway other way I can remove the child protection plan

Dear tanker,
A child protection plan will usually be stepped down to a child in need plan, or the case closed, at a review conference when the group of professionals and the independent chair agree that the identified risks have been addressed and the child is no longer at risk of harm.
I would advise that you ask for a copy of the child protection plan and ask the social worker to explain to you what the current risks are; what the objectives of the plan are and what steps will need to be taken before he/she would recommend stepping the plan down.
