Dear Sazy
Welcome to the parents’ forum and thanks for you posts. My name is Suzie and I am the online adviser here. You have posted a few times and I will answer all your posts here.
I am very sorry to hear that your children were adopted and that you don’t have any contact with them. I can understand how difficult this must be.
I am sorry that you were not given the right support to help you understand how the adoption order for your children was made, as you did not agree. You had a solicitor in the court case but maybe did not have an advocate to assist you. Parents with a learning disability should have an advocate when courts make decisions about their children. The court can make an adoption order even if a parent does not agree if it thinks that it is in the child’s best interests.
I think that the best place for you to get support and advice from now is PAC UK; they have a specialist advice line and a First Family services for parents. Their advice line numbers are 020 7284 5879 (London) or 0113 230 2100 (Leeds). You can also email advice@pac-uk.org to ask them for a call-back. I hope they will be able to guide and assist you more. Some of your children may now be young adults and PAC UK can also assist with helping parents try to get in touch with adopted adults.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes
Suzie
