Social services using false Information

Post by Hashmi123 » Sun Jun 06, 2021 9:09 pm

Hi I am mother of 4 children and 3 are of special needs. My children were on CIN for 1 year. It was all covid year. I was still attending the phone appointments and all physical appointments where it was allowed.

My social worker without my confirmation held one one of the meeting and Social worker and her Manager decided to put our children on Protection Plan. They just informed me that on 19th May there will be a conference you need to attend. No information was given to me. I have been asking my social worker and manager to provide me the report. Which they provided me just 1 day before the conference and the half of the information was wrong on that report.

They have made false allegations about missing appointments for my children. The dates are which my son was not born even.

2nd Allegation was one of the ex social worker who worked only for 2 weeks and then he left has put on the file that mum has denied the access and refused the home visit. Where at that time I explained that my children are shielding under covid rules by Govt. so I asked him to do virtual visit. But when he left he put the remarks that I denied access to my children.

I sent emails to the Manager to change the data but they didnt listen and respond to my emails.

On the day of the conference the Chair did not let us speak. As I was trying to mention her that the information is wrong. Also I gave my social services the list of health professionals with which I am in touch with. But on the day of the conference only 3 health professionals were there and they even said that no missed appointments. But still the Chair went ahead and did the decision to put the children on protection register.

I made a complaint to my local authority and they dismissed my all complaints as they said they have asked the social worker and data is correct.

I have got all the conversations with All social workers and The manager who has always failed to respond my emails and phone calls.
I am really stressed and disappointed.

Can you please tell me now that where should I complaint against the whole bunch of liars. As its the one department and they are doing against us all together.
Or Should I get a lawyer.

Thanks

Dear Hashmi123

Thank you for your post and welcome to the Board.

I am sorry to read of your experience with children’s services and the way they managed the child protection process. Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 is the Government’s guidance about how the process of working with families might be undertaken, it may be useful to you, page 34 is a good place to start reading. You can use the guidance to outline what happened in your case versus what the it says is good practice.

You have written that your initial complaint has been dismissed. Perhaps it might be useful for you to request all of the records held about your family by the local authority, we have an advice sheet about how to do this on our website, it can be read here. At the same time, you can ask for any records held about your family from the specialist you visit for your children (you will need to ask them how this can be done).

When you have gathered your information perhaps you should ask for your original complaint to be reviewed or raise a new one based on the new information you have. Here is some information about how to complain about child protection processes.

I hope this is helpful.

Best wishes

Suzie
