Is covid 19 reason for return

Post by Greatdefender » Thu Mar 26, 2020 3:27 am

I doubt it, but my thoughts are this.
We have 3 kids with XXXXX, very susceptible to infection.
We live in XXXXXX , they are fostered into XXXXXX under long term foster care.
They are in three different foster families.
Would it not be far safer for them to be isolated at our home in the country than in XXXXXX?

Dear Greatdefender

Thank you for your post.

Prior to the outbreak of Covid-19, if your situation was one where reunification was being discussed between you and the local authority it may now be a good idea to outline your current thoughts to the social worker responsible for your children and the independent reviewing officer. Our advice sheet about Reuniting children in the care system with their families may be useful to you but do bear in mind the current situation as regards the coronavirus.

We have produced a useful guide for parents about ways to support their children during this coronavirus outbreak, you will find it here, I hope it will be useful to you.

Best wishes

Suzie
