Interim care order living with mum
Interim care order living with mum
Hi has anyone got their children living with them under an interim care order? If so what does this entail please? Is it frequent social work visits etc? Any help or advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

Dear Queenbee
Thank you for your further post.
Sometimes a court agrees to a child remaining in the care of their mother but with children’s services sharing parental responsibility under an interim care order (ICO) . Please see my response on 28/05 to your earlier post where I explained more about what this involves and what you might want to consider.
I think that you are interested in hearing from other parents with experience of a child placed at home with them under an ICO so perhaps another parent will post to share their experience with you.
In the meantime, here are a few pointers:
All children who are subjects of interim or care orders, placed at home, are reviewed under the Looked After Children (LAC) system. So you will have LAC reviews for your child. Here is more advice about this.
Children’s services must identify and set out in the child’s care plan the services and other support which will be provided to your family to meet your child’s identified needs. The arrangements would come under placement with parents regulations.
There will be regular social work visits and these will be set out in the placement plans but should be at least weekly to begin with and then at least every 4 weeks .
I hope this helps.
Best wishes
Suzie
