My partner is low risk but still on sex offender register
My partner is low risk but still on sex offender register
Hi there am 29 weeks pregnant got 2 session left of the pre birth assessment my bf is on the sex offender register but he is aloud around children can social services still tell us to split up and will they still stop him having contact once baby comes
Re: My partner is low risk but still on sex offender register
Yes they can ask you to separate and he will probably have him on supervised contact depending what their concerns are
Re: My partner is low risk but still on sex offender register
See if we separate I will have no where to live
Re: My partner is low risk but still on sex offender register
They are mostly concerned about is offence and my peranting
Re: My partner is low risk but still on sex offender register
They cant make you split up but they could ask you or him to separate houses so he isn't living with you I'd assume. I'm also assuming he's the babies dad? If so they have to work with him as he has patently responsibility.

The LA can advise you to split up but not actually force you. If you are asked to split up my advice is to do as they say but to firmly say that any plan needs to be working you back together as a family.
The LA will be concerned that you are dependent on a sex offended for living accomadation. They will not like this. Also their concern is why do you choose to be with a sex offended. They will need to complete an assesment and my advice to you is show them that you choose your child over him and that you are in control of the situation. Be sure to be educated on his risk and show you are capable of managing his risk.
Any risk you pose or your partner poses dont see this has a fight against the LA. Accept it, understand it then say, right, what can you do to reduce or eliminate the risk.
