Re: Partner of sex offender

'They have moved the goal post so many times with no reason why yet we have stuck to our side of the plan exactly. The prebirth assessment has gone really well with the social worker actually saying he will make a good dad. She has already stated to me she has more important cases that need priority...

Re: I am a sex offender father please help me

Good news indeed re. Ilseycat. There is hope you and your partner can build a family life, ultimately without an oppressive degree of state interference if you do as told to the letter. Still, I find it difficult to trust them, so capricious callous and disorganized they can be. But they've totally ...

Re: I am a sex offender father please help me

@Helpless. The situation with your son smacks of the great witch hunt more than anything else I have read or experienced on the child protection front, which is a heck of a lot. Absolutely sickening and exasperating that your son be denied his job for this, despite a plethora of obviously good and s...

Re: I am a sex offender father please help me

Good luck Ilsseycat, and particularly your husband (as he is the one most likely to lose his human right to a family). From what I understand, a 'child in need' meeting is not as severe as a child protection plan. The reason you haven't heard much, is because they probably don't know what to do, and...

Re: I'm a sex offender dad and I want my family back

[quote="Scared2" , feel like we have all just been left hanging and not know what happens next , my son is 14 and goes to football and stuff with my hubby ( well did )[/quote] This is so sad to hear, and a familiar scenario to me. I make no bones about this, Scared2 - in my opinion this is...

@Chancing, it does give hope for us all that you seem to have negotiated something close to freedom for you and your partner, despite a very serious offending history. I dread to think how long this took you, and how much strength and legal help and costs. The problem for many parents in similar pos...

Re: Will social services tell my daughter ?

I agree Chancing, not all internet offenders are non-contact offenders or low risk, and the complexities of the issue (not that huge really) seem to be beyond our authorities. The problem I have with all this is that if there is no evidence of other offences after the investigation has been done, th...

Re: Indecent Images Charge. Advice please on working positively with Children's Serivices

By the way, London, you did not mention how old are your children. This could be significant because if you have already lived as a family for some time, and no concerns of abuse or history with Social Services - ie happy, healthy children - then they may be more convinced as to your safety. Basical...

Re: Will social services tell my daughter ?

I hope things work out for the best for you and your family, Scared2. A 'Community Order' was the sentence I got after I pleaded guilty to possession of images. This is the lightest sentence possible, except for a 'caution' (but such leniency almost never happens these days). Severest sentence is ob...

Re: Will social services tell my daughter ?

I repeat, Scared2 please try to stick by your husband in the face of this Inquisition. It sounds like he has done some wrong, but there is the danger Children's Services will see him as a far bigger risk than he really is - which I am sure is zero towards his own children.
