SW has left her post with no warning to us.
We use the counciling from Barnardos and we cant get access to it without a named sw.
Would it be too much for her to call and say " I am leaving the service "
My GS is in care and she was the only link we had with him.
SW has left us high and dry again

Hi GrannyP
Sorry to hear of the difficulties you are having. I would recommend that you get in touch with the Social Worker Team Manager and explain the situation you are in and see if they can assist you.
If they are not able to or simply will not help, then contact the Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) for assistance. Their role is to essentially make sure the local authority does what it says it will in the care plan to promote the child's welfare and so should help you in continuing the counselling. If you don't already have his/her number then the Team Manager will be able to give it to you.
If you need more advice about this or there are any other problems then get back to us.
Best wishes
Suzie
