I have an SGO for my Grandaughter. Her parents recently had another child which was also taken into foster care due to alcohol and drug abuse.
My Grandaughter has lots of complex needs and has medications every day. My problem at the moment is that her parents text me all the time saying they want to see her supervised by people that I think are totally inadequate and I also have no proof as yet as to weather they are still using drugs and alcohol. She sees them twice a week at the moment supervised by SS with their other child. Can I just say No we are going to stick with the SS supervised visits.?

In the absence of an order detailing how contact should take place, then yes, you can stick with the current arrangement. Probably best to discuss it with SS to gain their view. The parents have the right to take it back to court so best to keep SS on side if you can.

I have a good relationship with SS and ask her advice all the time but the child I have isnt under SS anymore, just the new baby so i dont like to bother her too much.

Understood, but should the parents decide to take it back to court, SS will be asked to comment as a minimum.

Even though SS are the ones that have all the evidence of hair strand tests and all the reports???

As a SG you do have the right to decide who supervises contact, but in situations that can get out of hand and end up back in court, it best to do it through a social worker. Its best to keep all texts and emails. I had to get separate from for contact with parents as the abuse got so bad my phone was lighting up like a Christmas tree will vile text messages that left me in anxiety.
