What happens in the Family Court stays in the Family Court. Which is why I am appalled when I see newspaper reports about abuse and neglect, and think that our case was far worse, and yet parents were not prosecuted. Acres of evidence, photographs as bad or worse than those in the Daily Mail this week that are labelled 'squalid', and yet the parents are free to get on with their own lives claiming that they have been victims of a miscarriage of justice to anyone that will listen (and as they are accomplished liars, they are very convincing!)
Our priority was always our nephew, and he is safe and doing well with us, but it makes my blood boil to think that the parents got away with this abuse, and I wonder how many other cases like ours involve clear abuse without any prosecution?
It drives me nuts...!

That's an interesting question. Surely all the professionals involved are duty bound to report such abuse to the police. Any decision on prosecution should surely fall outside the family court remit as its a police/CPS decision.

Former F&F carer, foster carer, adopter and respite carer for umpteen children. Now retired and when with kids, making sure they 'go home' at the end of the day.
