Re: Complex journey
It's been a while coming as for one reason or another my contact didn't go ahead in the summer holidays! But today we had supervised contact! The child, now aged 14, was absolutely delighted, especially as my husband came with me! We travelled 130 miles to see her. I think she was overwhelmed!!! We ...

Re: Complex journey
Thank you suzie and Irene. Heard from the SW this morning and she said the child is "excited". So am I.
This hS needed to happen for a long time , for the child's benefit. I am sure it will be an enjoyable time. Lots to catch up on! X

Re: Complex journey
Well...... Good news at last. One of the children has asked to see me again. So, in ten days time, we are meeting up for lunch along with the social worker as a first step towards more meaningful contact. It is 26 months since I saw the children, 25 since they're were first removed from their home! ...

Can someone tell me what the arrangements for BM are generally in regards to sending/ receiving birthday cards, Mother's Day cards etc when their child is in care? Would it be normally allowed for a child to send cards etc to their BM? Just interested since I am allowed to send cards/ presents etc t...

Re: Complex journey
Thank you Robin! I do think that her pain is clearly because her ( very happy) memories are being jogged of the time I was in her life as her Godmother and one of those "adopted aunties" many of us can recall, The SW said to me that she wanted to "unpick" what had happened and ho...

Complex journey
What a complex journey I am on......and I am wondering whether to just stop!! I don't want to go back over all of my story but I had gone through the whole assessment process and, at the last minute, the decision was made to leave the child in her current place net due to he being settled and happy ...

Re: Care orders
After being in care for almost two years, the eldest child of the sibling group has stated he wants to to visit me. I am not surprised really, it has just taken so long to happen. I have maintained indirect contact through the SW, always very positive and thoughtful..... And it seems it has come goo...
