Re: CAFCASS Report - complaint

Why never say they are wrong? If they are wrong then they are wrong... I am so fed up with having to jump through hoops and not upset anyone! No-one gives a damn about upsetting us!! Just because they are so-called 'professionals' does not give them the right to look down their nose at me and...

CAFCASS Report - complaint

Hi I am trying to find out if we can 'complain' about a CAFCASS Officers (Guardian) report? The report is very poorly (and unprofessionally) written and has ommitted much factual information which in turn, seems biased against us - the way it has been written means whoever reads it is not getting th...

S91 (14) and Prohibitive Steps Orders

We are currently in a rather long and complex Court procedure for Contact and alteration to the SGO order. Whilst we are in proceedings, can we request a S91 (14) and a prohibitive steps order instead of trying to do it after the case has finished? If we do it later, we will incur costs etc., and I ...

SGO and 'Maintenance'

Me again!

I have read on a legal site that an SGO does not remove the parents’ obligations to financially support the child

If this is the case, how can 'financial support' for the child be gained by the guardians?

thanks in advance.

Re: update/contact.

Hi Have you requested legal support/assistance on behalf of your grand child - I have heard that in some cases, legal aid can be granted for the child himself, especially if they are in this sort of situation, and he is making his own mind up not to maintain contact. Just a thought but you can alway...

SGO and removal from Jurisdiction

Hi When the court gives an SGO without the leave to remove from jurisdiction, the guardians can still remove the child for a period of upto/no more than 3 months. My queries with this, as there is no clear information around this, are: 1. How is the 3 months calculated? Is it 3 calendar months or is...

SGO and PR

Hi everyone At the point at the moment where we are being run ragged by solicitors letters, guardians reports, parents wants and its all a bit much! We have had an SGO now for almost 5 years and the parents just keep pushing and pushing - they want increased and unsupervised contact which we ...

Can I complain about Court delays

Hi We are being messed about by the Court - probably not intentionally, but all the same they are creating unnecessary delays in the case simply because the left hand does not know what the left hand is doing! Its been going on now for over 18 months. We were allocated a whole day to get matters sor...

sgo allowance

Is this allowance still means tested? We are due for renewal and I just wondered if there had been sny changes or cases that may have a bearing on our argument for continuation of its payment.

Re: Legal Aid if you have P.R?

<t>I had looked into this previously but you are not entitled to 'Non mean tested' legal aid - we have an sgo for our gd and have been taken to court by the mother on numerous occasions and she gets legal aid but we have to foot a several thougsand pound bill if we want to be represented - we did as...
