Children and Families Act 2014

Post by Sean Haresnape » Tue May 06, 2014 1:58 am

Recent government legislation has introduced significant changes in the way the law operates in relation to families through the Children and Families act 2014.
These changes amongst other things introduce the expectation that care proceedings will be determined within a strict 26 week timescale once the case is in proceedings. In addition the changes place expectations on local authorities prior to court which will have a bearing on FGC practice. For the government's press release on these changes go to https://www.gov.uk/government/news/fami ... t-children
For FRG's response to the proposed changes in legislation go to

FRG will in the next few weeks be updating its guidance to families in keeping with the changes.
