Domestic abuse statistics England and Wales 2017

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has recently published their annual report on domestic abuse in England and Wales which pulls together a range of data from the police, government agencies, victims and domestic violence and victim support services.

Chapter 5 summarises the circumstances in which police make a referral to children’s services in relation to domestic abuse – related incidents. Figures from Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services (HMICF&RS) show that there were 228,385 child protection referrals made in the year ending June 2017.
