Children living in Birmingham and West Midlands who have been affected by domestic abuse can now receive help through the Anchor Project provided by the Buttle Trust. The Charity's analysis of grant requests found that more requests for domestic abuse-related help came from the West Midlands than anywhere else. 34 % of all grant requests from the West Midlands related to domestic abuse.
Local support agencies such as Women’s Aid or a refuge are now able to refer families with children for a grant to help reduce the impact domestic abuse has on children. Grants are available to help families access items, activities and services to help children affected by domestic abuse to move on with their lives and to establish their new home.
