NEW: AVA Care leavers project

Postby Jacinta, FRG Adviser » Wed Nov 15, 2017 2:24 pm

AVA (Against Violence and Abuse) announces a new project:

Launch of the care leavers project

AVA has received funding from the Pilgrim Trust to set up a project to improve responses to young women in care/recent care leavers who have experienced domestic abuse, teenage relationship abuse or sexual exploitation.

This project is being led by an expert advisory group of care leavers and will result in:
• Awareness raising sessions for girls in care
• 8 thematic training seminars for relevant professions
• Thematic newsletters and a dedicated online blog
• Resources for practitioners and young women
We would like to create a network of relevant practitioners and organisations (foster carers, adopters, care home staff, social workers etc). If you would like to join this network and receive our newsletters and info about our free events please sign up here.

Please share this with anyone who you think may benefit.

If you have any questions about this project, please email Jo – Joanna.sharpen@avaproject.org.uk
