Kevin became a young father at the age of 17 and was committed to co-parenting his son. However, due to serious concerns regarding the child’s mother’s ability to care, the local authority issued proceedings. Kevin subsequently engaged in a lengthy process to raise his son. During that time he developed a deep passion for working with and supporting other families involved with children’s services.
Kevin’s passion has led him to work with Family and Childcare Trust (now known as Coram Family and Childcare) as a consultant for Young Dads Collective, delivering workshops across England, training practitioners on how to engage with fathers and the importance of engaging fathers.
Kevin has contributed to Camden’s Child Protection Review in 2018, which is widely known as Camden conversation and co-delivered workshop to social workers. Kevin also strongly supports family group conferences and has been acknowledged in the book of Family Group Conferences in social work involving family in social decision making edited by Deanna Edwards and Kate Parkinson.
Finally Kevin has participated in a variety conferences regarding the involvement of parents and families to change the way the social care system works with families in decision making.
