Involvement of Birth Families in Adoption Planning and Placement Under the New Adoption Framework

Length: Two days

This course can be run as a seminar or workshop. It aims to assist practitioners and policy makers to review the values and principles underpinning their ‘permanency' planning practice, consider the research evidence, and identify good practice in involving birth families to promote the welfare of their children.

Course designed for: panel members, adoption and fostering workers and field social workers in local authorities, and voluntary organisations, child care planning and reviewing officers, managers and policy makers.

The course will:

Increase confidence and knowledge about involving birth parents in adoption planning.
