The Family Group Conference Network

The Family Group Conference Network was launched in May 1999. Its aim is to promote the development of FGCs and the values they represent, and connect together all people who are interested in Family Group Conferences (FGCs).

Aims of the Network are to:

• promote the use of FGCs;
• agree and promote core principles and practice standards;
• provide opportunities for members to share and learn from each other's experience;
• disseminate research findings and good practice;
• provide advice and support for agencies that are in the early stages of developing FGC work;
• provide access to training and consultation;
• ensure that service users have an input into the future development of FGCs; and
• provide an accessible information base about projects, materials and research.

Membership Types & Costs

Family Member: Free
If you are involved in FGCs in any way as a family member you are welcome to join our network for free. We value your input and attendance at our conferences and other events.

Self Employed Co-ordinators: £40
If you are a self employed coordinator you can join our network for £40 per year. As well as all the other benefits, you get great discounts on all our conferences. This membership is very good value.

International rate: £45
People overseas are not excluded!  Individuals and organisations can join our network for £45 per year. We are aware you may not be able to attend most of the conferences which are held, but we will still post and email you all our information.

Other UK individuals: £75 (£10 for students)
This is for those people who would like to join our membership as an individual. Everybody has this option even if you are a member of a large group or organisation. Associate organisations (organisations which do not yet run Family Group Conferences) may wish to join under this membership option. If you are studying a course related to Social Work or Family Group Conferences in any way, you are welcome to join our network as a student.

Small Group Membership: £175
This membership allows 5 individuals from the organisation to receive our material and all other membership benefits i.e. access to discussion boards, discounts to conferences etc. This membership is recommended to organisations with an annual budget of under £2 million or those who undertake fewer than 50 family group conferences a year.

Large Group Membership: £500
This membership allows 20 individuals from any one organisation to receive our material and all other membership benefits i.e. access to discussion boards, discounts to conferences etc. This membership is recommended to organisations with an annual budget of more than £2 million or to those undertaking more than 50 family group conferences a year.
