Take part in sporting events in aid of Family Rights Group
There are an estimated 300,000 vulnerable children in this country who cannot live with their parents and are being raised by grandparents or other relatives. The children have experienced tragedy or trauma and yet many of these carers receive little if any practical or financial help, despite many being in severe financial poverty.
In 2013 our ambition is to raise £20,000 from our sporting activities to help fund local fun days for children who cannot live with their parents and are being raised by grandparents and extended family members and to help set up local support groups for these carers. There are few such groups in the country, yet they make a world of difference to children and carers who often feel very isolated. We have no other monies this year to support this work.
Become a sportperson for FRG in 2013:
Are you interested? Whether it’s your first time participating in an organised running or swimming event or you were part of Team GB – we’d love you to take part for Family Rights Group.
Runners will receive a Family Rights Group running vest and we’ll help you to set up a justgiving account/provide sponsorship forms. For more information and to book a place please email Cathy Ashley on cashley@frg.org.uk.
We are also putting together a team for the London legal support trust walk on Monday 20th May – which is a leisurely but fascinating activity. 100% of monies raised by those who are part of our team will go to Family Rights Group. You can donate to our team of walkers.
