Take part in sporting events in aid of Family Rights Group

There are over 200,000 vulnerable children in this country who cannot live with their parents, and are being raised by grandparents or other relatives. The children have experienced tragedy or trauma and yet these carers receive little if any practical or financial help, despite many being in severe financial poverty.

We are hoping to raise £20,000 in 2012 from our sporting activities to help fund local fun days for children who cannot live with their parents and are being raised by grandparents and extended family members and to help set up local support groups for these carers. There are few such groups in the country, yet they make a world of difference to children and carers who often feel very isolated. We have no other monies next year to support this work.

So in 2012 why not join our runners? Tortoises as well as Olympians welcome.

We have places in:

- The British 10k London run 8th July 2012.

- Royal Parks London half marathon, 7th October 2012

- Run to the Beat half marathon, Greenwich, London on 21st October 2012.

If you wish to take part in any of these sports events, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

We ask that runners raise £300 if participating in one event or £450 if participating in two.
