Section 20 consent

Post by Pixiedust2015 » Sat Feb 17, 2024 2:11 pm

My stepdaughter and grandson are currently living with us after being placed with us by social services while they do a parenting assessment of her. She has told her solicitor and social worker she can’t be a parent and she wants me and her dad to have him. Can social services make her leave our house if we have him under a section 20 agreement?

Dear Pixiedust 2015

Please see response to your earlier post regarding s.20 voluntary arrangement.

Children's services would carry out an assessment of you and your husband before a decision is made about where baby stays. If the matter is in court already it could be that he is placed with your under an interim care order.

In my previous response there is also information relating to becoming a kinship foster carer. Please remember as suggested in previous post that your posts should be on the kinship carers forum.

Best wishes

Suzie.
