Your advice please ???

Post by Murray72 » Fri Dec 14, 2012 3:11 pm

I was wondering if anybody could recommend any literature or research on the Re-unification of a Child in long term care to a Birth parent??

Particularly I am looking for something that covers the planning and structure of how this is can be undertaken, and the long term effects on the Child.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Murray

Welcome back to the board.

You may find our advice sheet on reunification useful to look at or you could refer to
the following commissioned research at:

Hi murray. Was just wondering when you said on your other post that the sw isn't going to do a pre birth assessment why is this? I thought they had to be done automatically if you've had a previous child removed? Also do you have any advice on questions I could ask my sw on my situation? I've never really had to deal with anything like this before so was just wanting some advice. Also have they told you the baby will be coming home with you? And have they done any assessments at all with regards to your new baby? Hope you can help. Thanks x

Hi Mummyof2

Hopefully Murray will be along shortly with some advice for you. In the meantime, I just want to make sure you have seen my post in the "pre-birth assessment" thread as well, as it answers some of your questions here.

Best wishes

Suzie
