Hey hun, so sorry you're going through all of this. I've experienced similar; ex abused me psychologically and physically for almost 2 years and on one occasion I used self-defence as I was terrified; he took a photo of the mark I left on him and used this in court. Judge decided our 'relationship was unstable and abusive' and social worker to this day accuses me of not taking responsibility for 'my part'.

I also got the 'minimises abuse' cr*p. What they need to understand is 1) we've been living with it, it only really become clear to us toward the end of the relationship and once we've left and 2) if we do 'minimise it', it's a coping mechanism; we need support not critism for finding it hard to understand what happened to us. Have you contacted Womens Aid? They may be able to advocate for you and help you through this. Also try and self-refer to The Freedom Programme; this will show them you're being proactive in seeking support and you'll learn a lot from it (I did it and loved it, it's so enlightening).

I hope your manager doesn't let them force them into firing you. Good luck xx
