Dear Sad122516

Thank you for posting on the Parents’ Discussion Board and welcome.

My name is Suzie, online adviser at Family Rights Group.

I assume that your sister is looking after your child as s.20 accommodation and you consented to this happening. I make this assumption as you have referred to having LAC review in the past.

The purpose of a care planning meeting is usually so that a plan can be formulated and long term care of the child sometimes referred to as permanency. As it is not clear from your post exactly how your child came to be in your sister’s care it is difficult to give you detailed advice on your situation.

As you are unclear about the meeting you can ask the social worker to explain the purpose of the meeting and what will happen at the meeting.

I hope this helps but you can, if you wish, post again with more information about your situation.

Alternatively, you could telephone our advice line on 0808 801 0366. The advice line is open 9.30am to 3pm Monday to Friday.

Best wishes

Suzie
