Do we have the right to know the dates of the Looked After Child Review?

Dear M***S,

Welcome to the Parents board. Are you a mum of a child or children who are in care (either by court order or your agreement)?
If so, because you have the legal parental responsibility for your child or children then yes, I would expect you to be advised about the date of the LAC review, consulted about your child’s care plan (see here) and any reports that are presented at the review meeting. Usually you would be invited to attend the review as well.
Here is some information about looked after children (LAC) reviews.

However, if your child was 16 or over or younger but assessed as competent to make his or her own decisions, then you might not be told the date of the review, if your child had wanted this information to be kept from you. But I would have expected you to have been informed, if this was the case.

I hope this advice helps but if you need further advice, please post again.

Best wishes,
Suzie
