Thanks for your further post. It is not easy going through an assessment of your family's situation especially if you feel you are not being kept properly informed.

The only way to address this though is to contact children’s services directly. You could ask that they set up a meeting or a visit to update you; this could also be a good opportunity for you to share information with them about your support network and to ask them to be clear with you about who they would like to contact and why.

Remember that an assessment is a process of gathering and analysing information so it is best that you are as fully involved and informed about this as possible. Ask for feedback and when the assessment is likely to be included (should be within 45 working days).

but ... how can they do any assessment without speaking to us for more than 5-10mins? Surely the whole point of an assessment is to fact check and allow us to answer/reply to any 'concerns'?
