Pre birth assessment- what to expect?!

I am 18 weeks pregnant and have to undergo a pre birth assessment due to my partner being on a sex offender register for indecent assault 12 years ago on adult woman.
Can anyone advise what to expect during this time?
How long will the assessment take?
What are all the potential outcomes?
