Board disruption

Dear All, I apologise for the occasional disruption in the running of the board that has occurred over the last few days. This will cease when our new website is up and running. This is expected to be in the next few weeks. I hope people using the forum can bear with us until then. Best wishes, Suzie

Re: Need Help With Getting Children Home

Dear saddadandy, I am sorry that I can offer only very limited advice to you. Even though you live in England your children are subject to the law in Scotland and I would be wrong to offer you any legal advice. However, there is research about contact with children in care and how important it is fo...

Re: Need Help With Getting Children Home

I am very sorry to hear that your children are in care. Unfortunately, as you are based in Scotland I do not have the expertise in Scottish law to help you. I can give advice on law in England and Wales only. You could try Parentline Scotland who may be able to refer you to an appropriate service , ...

Re: Contact with our children

Dear Fymlor, I am sorry to hear that you are not having contact with your older children at the moment. It seems unfair but is normal when there is a criminal case and your children are witnesses. The police have to make sure that the evidence that your children may give in court is accurate. If you...

Re: advice

Hi Chloe, I’m sorry you are having such a stressful time right now. Just to let you know I have moved your post to a more appropriate thread where hopefully more people will see it and might be able to help you. So, just to clarify, although you were told at one time that the children might be remov...

Re: appeal

By the way I have edited your post to remove the letter you attached as I don't think it is appropriate for either a letter of this kind to be on a public forum but also it has identifying features (name, position) of other people who have not given their agreement to this information being shared.

Re: appeal

It sounds very complex (and frustrating) if even the court office are getting it wrong. I suggest you speak to the pro bono unit where you can some times get free legal representation. http://www.barprobono.org.uk/ Good luck and please post back if you need further assistance. You may also want to c...

Re: i need help getting my children out of foster care

Hi Maggy, Thanks for providing that extra information. The only way you could have the children returned to your care would be to apply to court to have the Care Order discharged. Unfortunately right now, you cannot do that. The reason is that a Care Order has to be made for 6 months before you can ...

Re: desperate in kent

Dear John, I am really sorry to hear about all the difficult time you have been having recently. I am glad that you have a solicitor to guide you and provide legal advice and support. I think these are the main issues that you raise: Your son is on a CP plan and you are not happy with the process I ...
