Re: Any advice would be appreciated
Have they convened a core group yet? It would involve yourself and your partner, health such as GP or school nurse, your child's teacher, social worker. Anyone that is involved with him. We found them very frustrating because a lot of their "concerns" were only told to us at these meetings...

Re: Child in foster care
Hi Sue. Long term foster care is where a child remains until they reach 18. The mother retains parental responsibility as does the father if the parents were married when the child was born or his name appears on the birth certificate if they were not married at the time. My husband and I have child...

Re: Any advice would be appreciated
Dear PeterG Can I just begin by saying how upsetting it is to read yet another family being put through hell like we are. Our daughter is in a special needs unit for learning disability, global development delay, etc. The school have been useless and made no attempt to support my numerous requests f...

Re: Help please son threatened with being adopted
Hi SicilianRose. Is there any updates to your story? the LA got their final order 24th January. What a fiasco. We had final hearing 20th December! Judge wanted to give the LA directions as to type of adopters they could search for. A recent judgement not published until after Christmas made it impos...

Re: Time limited search for adopters
Hi sorry no our placement order hasn't been revoked though we are still hoping it will be as was the case in Re A. Over a week after the judge wanted submissions and three long days since she was reported as being "fed up" and going to make her decision, the judge has yet to finalise the p...

Re: Time limited search for adopters
Hi everyone. A quick update. We had the LAC review this morning. Children's social worker was on fine form as usual. Having to be spoon fed what she should be doing by the reviewing officer. I had written a long letter and report in advance and he (the IRO) identified key issues which was good and w...

Wait and Hope
Hi everyone. I have moved my question from the adoption to foster care board as at the present time long term foster care is a possibility more than ever. Just before Christmas the Judge decided to add conditions to the placement order. Since then another case Re A (Children) [2013] EWCA 1611 (Famil...

Is this a breach of confidentiality?
Hello everyone. Need some advise please as to whether the children's social worker has breach confidentiality. My husband had a call from his Mum last night and she detailed a conversation she had had with the social worker. Mum In Law had called the social worker to arrange contact for both herself...

Re: Time limited search for adopters
Thank you Ange and Suzie for your replies. I am focused on what we have to do that is something. I was in shock over Christmas and neither my husband or I have heard from our solicitors. Can anyone tell me the level of help a solicitor can give now the care proceedings are closed and legal aid ended...

Time limited search for adopters
We finished the final hearing just before Christmas with the following result. Time limited search for adopters. 3 month search for adopters including nationwide search. Review after 3 months to include search for long term foster carers. If no adopters found after this time LA have to return to cou...
