Re: Son Arrested
Hello, A few days have past and the situation is unfolding. My eldest son is still in the CAMHS unit and has a CPA at the end of this month. I expect the CPA will discuss discharge, yet no-one from any agency is really looking for anywhere for him to go? Furthermore, no-one is looking for any activi...

Re: Out of control teenager
Hello Zena and Beth, What you write about rings so true for my youngest. He is 15 and we are currently on our second Child Protection Plan . CSC are criticising me for 'bad' parenting. However, he does not respond to conventional strategies. His father and brother have ASD and I am sure he has PDA.

Re: Child protection meeting
Hello Chrislily, How did the meeting go? There is a thread on another branch of this forum which is about Child Protection Conferences and, although the advice comes from experience, everyone's experience is different. Some conferences are like a nightmare; others are positive and helpful. I was a b...

Re: CSC and families with complex needs
Hello Charmed 1 and Beth, Your posts highlight the devastating effect that inadequate support or inappropriate intervention can bring on families with complex needs. They also show how difficult it can be to work with agencies who attribute a child's developmental delay or atypical progress singular...

CSC and families with complex needs
Hello, I have posted frequently about my own situation and received some very helpful advice. I have also used other forums for advice about my children's specific needs and found that many families in which a least one of the children and/or parents is on the autism spectrum or has a mental health ...

Re: Need help before Child Protection Conference
Hello, I am so sorry to read about your issues with child protection agencies. It sounds as if you have done everything to co-operate with the agencies concerned and this will be a very significant positive factor in the conference. You asked what will happen in an Initial Child Protection Conferenc...

Re: Son Arrested
Hello, Thank you for the support This is just a brief question. I feel like I cannot sign plans that say I have abused my children. I have scoured the various criteria for 'emotional abuse' and my actions do not readily fit any of them. Suzie, I will agree to work towards he best outcomes for my son...

Re: Son Arrested
I really think I am going to give up. I have had three nights of screaming in my sleep and I cry (privately) every day. I have not abused my children and I never would do so. I have fought as hard as I could for them. Now I am blamed to lack of engagement and for not allowing my sons to engage with ...

Re: Son Arrested
Hello, The Conference was held today and both boys have been put on Child Protection Plans under the category of 'Emotional Abuse'. I felt totally beaten and patronised. I can accept that I let my boys live together when my husband gave up his accommodation and I can accept that I did not/could not ...

Re: Help
Hello, There seems to be an inherent problems in CSC and other agencies with respect to the way they respond to families where children have special needs/challenging behaviour. A survey into parent/carers' experiences with CSC when a child has autism is available on the members' forum of the PDA So...
