Re: A few questions - is this normal procedure?

Additionally, the SW's manager advised I ask the IRO for a meeting to discuss their concerns so I can address them. I rang the IRO to ask for this and was told she "only agrees or disagrees with the plans". I then rang the manager to inform her of this and she seemed confused, stating that she thoug...

A few questions - is this normal procedure?

Hi, The good news is that I've been told I have a "very positive" assessment by the SW who assessed me. The bad news is that the SW who is in charge of my son's case has decided she's not supporting me because she thinks I'm "manipulative" - she literally said to me "you're saying you've progressed ...

Exhausted, confused and lost - Please read Part Two

This is the transcript from the swift LAC review Meeting held today (with a different social worker - the one over-seeing everything who I want a replacement of as she is simply just mean to me): **** If someone could please be honest with me, how badly did I handle this? I'm not the kind of person ...

Exhausted, confused and lost - Please read Part One

I had my recording app going on my phone that was in my back pocket in preparation for a LAC review meeting today. The social worker who assessed me prior to Christmas took me into a room to speak with me and let me know the outcome of my assessment prior to the meeting. The recording app picked up ...

Re: Conflicted - Afraid to raise an issue with CS

Update: The manager got back in touch with me and advised she'll arranged to speak with her manager to see if it is possible to get me a new social worker. Fingers crossed xx

Re: will social services get back involved? help please

I have had a new baby since, he's currently in the care of my parents and I'm battling to bring him home. My son who was injured and then passed away in his dads sole care (the inquest is yet to happen) had four healing rib fractures. I didn't know about them at all until hours after he died. I've s...

Re: can you trust social services

There's some really valid points here so proposal: how about we work together and focus on these valid points, build on them and compile a letter for MP's? If enough of us start speaking out about this surely there will be change? Let's make Fact Finding about actual facts again with actual evidence...

Re: will social services get back involved? help please

I agree with Misery, the case does seem to have been handled badly as it does seem odd that they'd close a case with a simple letter. However, take my opinion with a pinch of salt as I have been involved with CS due to a much more serious injury my baby boy had and so I don't know how they handled s...

Re: Conflicted - Afraid to raise an issue with CS

Below is the email I originally sent my solicitor and the subsequent email I have just sent the manager of the SW. "Hi *******, For the sake of moving forward and in the right direction, would it be possible to ask for a new social worker for the entirety of ****’s case? I know I’ve asked before wit...

Re: Scared of Social services

Hi, firstly, I just want to say how sorry I am that things ended how they did - the fact a social worker became an independent witness for you is rare! I have a few thoughts on this; whilst I do not know the details of your case, at first glance it is very saddening that your parents essentially too...
