Re: Any advice welcome, lost and confused!

Good luck Adelephant. From what you say this sounds very unfair, not dissimilar to what we experienced in terms of unreasonable treatment. We were advised that systems were ‘fair’, their concerns were ‘reasonsble’ or for the ‘good of the child’ and we were told we had a ‘right to question x,,z”... t...

Re: Has anyone successfully complained?

Yes, I complained and fought throughout, and it nearly cost me everything BUT ultimately it paid off. Every solicitor, social worker and friend told us to cave in, put up, get on with it because of escalation. Sure enough they escalated, bullied, threatened. But, I think they’re used to starting tha...

Re: Not sure what to do.

You both have my sympathy too. We live in a time/society where the practices of social services are governed by a fair amount of nonsensical rules which are not only draconian, but intimately aren’t best for the children either. A system was designed to protect our children and support us, but actua...

Re: Police Investigation and Child Services Hell

We are currently in Chikd Protection proceedings - we had an initial conference and recently had the follow-up conference after 3 months. Both were farcical and the decision was taken to remain on CP for a further 6months. After the core fam group meeting yesterday (where only myself, the mother and...

Re: I am a sex offender father please help me

Thank you, merely hearing your support means more than you realise... I wrote them a long letter citing quotations from Human Rights law and their own guidance around this needing to be necessary, timely, proportionate, etc... they’re still pushing. I have a specialist ‘independent’ (hah yeh right) ...

Re: I am a sex offender father please help me

Yes, and the plan arrived in the post today. They’re trying to push forward on carrying out police checks (form 87B) on my father and his wife as significant adults, which would involve disclosure. We’ve been in this situation now (involved with social services) for 3yrs and we’ve managed to avoid a...

Re: Police Investigation and Child Services Hell

I have written so many detailed letters to them, picking out faults in what they say and do; they’re misleading in their phrases, ambiguous, censor anything that strengthens our case, exaggerate anything that weakens it, and are factually incorrect on so many levels. They take what we say, do, write...

Re: I am a sex offender father please help me

We had the 2nd CP conf yesterday and -as expected- it all played out as though they’d decided in advance. The so-called Indelendent chair and the social worker (colleagues of course) had carefully planned their attack. They shut me down every time I tried to reason, talked over me, pushed me on issu...

Re: I am a sex offender father please help me

Reading as many posts in this thread as I could (time permitting) has been fascinating, upsetting and reassuring all at once. So many of us going through the same thing. Many seem to suggest we don't fight social services, that we do everything they say so that they leave us alone. The point is, it'...
