Re: Husband downloading child images

Three points to make about this case: 1) your husband IS the man you've always known, it's just that he got sick and had this poison as part of him. Your confused feelings of still loving him are instinctively correct. He was speaking out of his own shock and shame at the arrest, and society's stigm...

Re: Social services ignoring sopo

If you yourself are happy for your husband to have unsupervised contact, on no account sign anything! Hopefully they will accept your stance, since they are keen to get you off their books. If not, gather together lots of references of all kinds that support how he has always been a good father and ...

Re: Social services ignoring sopo

They are being incompetent or arrogant or a mixture of both. In cases like this, they are often unsure how to interpret a SOPO. Therefore they take the simplest draconian course - a blanket unsupervised contact ban. It seems to me they are trying to reduce their caseload whilst at the same time cove...

Re: Child Protection

BBmum - your story angers me too, just by reading it. Keep strong, whatever you do, or at least hide your moments of weakness in private. If they spot you in a 'bad moment', they'll use it as ammunition to pursue you down the mental health route. This is what they do; their involvement, all the insa...

Re: Help/Advice Appreciated

'I am now under the impression that I am being victimised and also harassed by social services.' - you are; it's what they do. They create many many victims among children and parents. 'Are they trying to catch me out in something?' - Yes. they're probably trying to get a random impression of what y...

Re: Social services involvement

The incompetence and disruption is unbelievable. I wish you luck with these people. If you refuse 'support' on the grounds you don't need it, you'll be labelled a 'risk'. If you accept support, you'll be in effect admitting you're a 'risk' and you'll receive nothing but bureaucracy, disruption and s...

what if there is no 'unsupervized contact' prohibition on a SHPO?

If a Dad convicted of indecent images has an SHPO which does not include any clause about contact (ie internet prohibitions only), thereby no legal restriction on him seeing his own children, exactly what power does Children's Services have to step in if the Dad ignores them and just goes about such...

Re: Update on iioc , now found cat a !!!

Sorry but it really makes my blood boil this default position of social services, and seemingly everyone else, of deeming a guy a 'risk' or even 'high risk' of contact offence with their own children by virtue of having had an interest in (sometimes a very small way indeed) child porn. It actually d...

Re: Update on iioc , now found cat a !!!

I'm afraid if Cat A images are present it is certain to go to court, probably for a lot less than that. If, however, there's not a lot of images then your husband should be able to hope for the lightest possible sentence which is a community order (no prison, and a sex offenders rehab work with prob...

Re: I want to marry a sex offender

Hi Shaftesbury, I'm not a legal expert of any kind, but I have done a lot of reading about sex offender prohibition orders and social services involvement, etc, because of my own situation. In your partner's case, you should have no worries in theory. I read somewhere that once a person is off the r...
