Extended family contact

Long story short, I have my oldest son at home and 3 older children in ltfc. I see my children monthly, loosely supervised (although it's been said it should be unsupervised, the carers where worried I may say things to encourage them to come home, but they are 15-20 years old so they know it's very...

Unsure what to do

Just a quick summary before I go into detail. I had 6 children. Back in 2012 I lost them all to the local authority. The youngest 2 got adopted. The older 4 into long term foster care. There was a spiral of events and since had verbal admissions off social workers that none of it should have happene...

Re: Home visits

Quick update, I've just had the contact (officially unsupervised, but with both sets of foster carers being sat near us in the park). The younger foster brothers of my older children kept coming over to talk to us and asking for stuff to eat, which they know I never mind and my daughter had even bou...

Re: Home visits

Hi suzie. Sorry to keep mithering but a bit of a mixed bag really. I had he unsupervised contact on monday which I thought went really well. We were all relaxed and just enjoyed chatting and everything felt more normal. Unfortunately half an hour before the contact I got a call from my younger daugh...

Re: Home visits

Hi suzie, I finally have some good news for you after 9 years. It's been agreed that I can have semi supervised contact with all 3 children (18 16 and 13 year old) and this will move to unsupervised contacts. It is only on the planned contact times, so 1 and a half hours per month, and I've been tol...

Home visits

Hi, I'm looking for advice around contacts with my children. A quick summary is that my children went into care in 2012, at the time I had 6 children, the 2 youngest were adopted but the older 4 were put in ltfc. In the past 9 years we have had frequent contact, but it reduced to monthly as the sw a...

Re: Incorrect information.

Thanks for your advice suzie. I wasnt able to go to court when the children first went into care as I was in hospital having had a stroke, but in the care proceedings 6 months later I was able to disprove a lot of the things which were stated, and the judge said if he had seen that proof previously ...

Re: Confused about what happens next

Hi suzie this is just an update because I'm feeling really lost in the situation now. I had a meeting with a social worker this week. The other social worker didn't attend but a representative for one of the carers came, which felt awkward as she hasn't been involved in the case and she seemed to be...

Incorrect information.

I have been reading through my legal papers from the case 7 years ago. In court I managed to disprove most of what was said, but when reading the paperwork it doesn't actually say that I had disproved it. I also have noticed parts that I hadn't seen, due to all the stress around at the time. Some of...

Re: Confused about what happens next

I've always told the social workers I'll be completely flexible. Even though I actually work about 70 hours a week I've always rearranged anything to make sure I get to meetings and attend all contacts as the kids are my number one priority. I've asked about doing dates that are more suitable for th...
