CIN: Returned home from foster care

My teen was in foster care for four years. Returned home to me at the age of 7. They're now 14. Says they were never happy being home and seem to be throwing me under the bus. Now a CIN due to illness and not attending school. My heart is broken as I bend over backwards and am doing everything on my...

Re: Legal Help/Solicitor Not Responding

Thank you Suzie. I have now finanally had the draft letter to the LA some 5 weeks after it was written as the date at the top is from March. Needless to say I am very upset about the delay. Also the letter itself is full of inaccuracies. I've rewritten the entire letter using some of what the solici...

Legal Help/Solicitor Not Responding

I have been granted Legal Help as my contact with my daughter has been reduced well below a reasonable level by the social worker and she simply won't budge. The solicitor doesn't return my calls or answer my emails and it's been three months since I was informed that I had Legal Help in place and t...

Contact Stopped

Hi everyone. My contact was 6x a year, then reduced to 3x. Last contact was in February. No indirect contact in between. Contact restarted for my son (who lives with me) and my daughter (she has a significant learning disabilty/global development delay) in September. My contact earlier this month wa...

Re: Foster carer making unauthorised decisions

Foster carer making unauthorised decisions

Can a foster carer agree to have a child put on the pill without the social worker consulting with the parent first? The IRO stated that no decision should be made without the sw contacting me but instead the carer went ahead. I didn't find out for six months as the review minutes stated that my dau...

Re: Covid-19/Any Indirect Contact Being Arranged?

Hi everyone. Quick update. My daughter has been asked how she felt about a voice call with her brother. She didn't want to talk anyone on the phone so I know that won't be an option when my next cintact is due in two months. As there is no other option available the social worker has suggested my so...

Covid-19/Any Indirect Contact Being Arranged?

My daughter has complex learning needs and wouldn't manage a voice call. That is all that is being offered which means me, dad and her brother have no contact at all despite their legal duty to arrange an alternative during the lockdown. Anyone else not able to have indirect contact with their child...

Re: Ambushed at LAC Review

I have received an email from the social worker. She doesn't know what I am referring to when I requested the contact assessment. Meaning there wasn't an assessment carried out so I've emailed back asking for the reasons in writing why my daughter's contact has been cut by half. I wait her response....

Not consulted about my daughter's care decisions

Hi everyone. My daughter has a learning diability and is vulnerable. There has been discussions previously around possibly giving her something to supress her periods. Nothing happened for several LAC reviews it being noted that the carer was helping my daughter manage them. I then read in the new s...
