Wanting to discharge a care order

Hi I am looking for some advice around being and assessed and ultimately (hopefully) discharging a care order. I have posted previously about my situation due to difficulties around contact. My current situation is I have a 13, 12 and 8 year old living with their maternal grandparents under a care o...

Re: unsupervised and supervised contact

I have received a court date over the weekend for the hearing, and CAFCASS have been told they have 17 days to compile a safeguarding report. I am happy now that things might actually be looked into. I have made significant changes since the care order was finalised, most importantly and specificall...

Re: unsupervised and supervised contact

I had a meeting with the social worker on Monday, which was not conducive at all. I took a friend with me, who also happens to be an idva, who was appalled at the way the social worker spoke to me. she has put her own complaint in regarding the manner in which the social worker conducted herself in ...

Re: unsupervised and supervised contact

The original IRO has taken on a new role and so left in May, and the social worker claims not to know the name of the new IRO. I was finally able to find out the name of the new one today, after many phone calls, but she has only been at the post for 8 weeks, and I do not feel confident that she kno...

Re: unsupervised and supervised contact

I'm certainly not an expert on these things but in the last 3 year's I've learned an awful lot, as far as I understand thing's LA are legally bound to uphold reasonable contact with parents where it's possible, they can say it must be supervised when the contact is at their discretion which is what ...

Re: unsupervised and supervised contact

The relationship with my mum has broken down completely, however I do still talk to my dad. He doesn't seem to share the concerns of children's services, as in addition to the unsupervised contact multiple times in a week, I also attend swimming galas with him in which my two boys compete, which I h...

Re: unsupervised and supervised contact

It was January last year it was made unsupervised, so it has been 16 months but now my son's behaviour has deteriorated, they have decided it must be my fault and I must be doing/saying something, hence I can't be trusted to be alone with them. There has been no concern at all of this the whole time...

Re: unsupervised and supervised contact

Hi :) thought I would update on my situation... I applied to the courts for a contact order myself, and after the application was advised by the solicitors that I could actually have legal aid. We went to court for about 6 months, and following that case the social workers backtracked dramatically a...

Re: unsupervised and supervised contact

Hi and thankyou for replying. No, my children are living with my parents, the maternal grandparents, where they have been since the beginning of the interim care order. Their father has unsupervised contact once a week for one hour, which suits him as he does not want to be a full time parent, indee...

Re: unsupervised and supervised contact

my children are all now in care under a final care order, I believe I share PR with the local authority and their dad, who is happy with the situation because he has basically got what he wants! in court it was agreed we needed to have 6 weekly reviews of my contact, as "due to my mental health...
