Seeking advice Children placed with Grandparent
I am seeking any helpful advice on behalf of my friend, her Grandchildren have been placed with her on an EPO due to non- accidental injuries to one of the children. The Daughter and her partner (not children's dad) are both on police bail. My friend is in shock and is holding things together well f...

Re: Opinions on going without contact
Hi, I was in this situation and child placed in long term foster care (with no return home envisaged) in 2009, final hearing 2010. I did carry on with contact and it was difficult especially when you are feeling angry, upset and targeted by CS. I think every parent involved in these proceedings can u...

Re: can social services keep a case open even if cps drop it?
Hi, CS will do an investigation regarding any allegations made, if they decide to follow the route of court proceedings they can do a "Finding of Fact" this is like a trial in the family courts, you will have an opportunity to put your case across and fight the allegations, There is no Jur...

Should we have been warned by CS?
Hi, I have no involvement with CS anymore but in the past I had a lot of involvement and one of my children was removed for a long period of time. My ex husband was convicted of a number of child sex offences in 2010, we as a family have had no further involvement with him since before this time, ho...

Re: 21 weeks and no news
Dear Hollz, What are the ages of the children and how do they feel about increased contact with Mum? I ask this because when my contact was reduced to 6 times a year my Child became so distressed and upset she confided in a teacher and broke down at school, this was reported at the Lac review and it...

Re: Social Services concerned even though SOPO and SOR expired.
Yes this is generally the "norm" in these situations. Any resistance from either yourself or your partner to sign and stick to the agreement will be seen in a negative light by CS. And further involvement by CS will see them becoming further involved in your life. If you do sign the agreem...

Re: Indecent images plus more.
Hi Alhoward, I have been in your shoes and I would say congratulations on keeping CS input to a minimum, they obviously feel you are a protective factor and can safeguard your child, this is probably the best outcome considering the offences committed by the Father. If CS were to be further involved...

Re: Baby's father in jail on remand advice
Looplou, I would suggest that you do not go into any meeting with CS feeling angry or wound up at all, it is very easy to feel angry when you are dealing with SW and other professionals, but it can always be used against you and once you fall foul of CS it is a very hard slog to turn this around. At...

Re: Husband was on SOR but isn't anymore - now pregnant
I would try and get some advice regarding the consequences from one of the agencies that support and run sex offender courses, Lucy Faithful and in the North East the Mosaic Project, Barnados. But whilst the Police were supportive I think CS will look at it from a different angle, they have to asses...
