Dear users

We must stress that this message board is specifically for family members (and friends) who are raising a young relative or have serious concerns about a child/children within their family. You may be a grandparent whose grandchildren are living with you because they cannot live with their parents, or an older brother raising your young sister, or an aunt, uncle, cousin etc with concerns about a child in your family. The board is specifically funded for this purpose and we will delete messages from the board that are not directly relevant.

There is a separate discussion board on the website specifically for fathers whose children are involved with social care services, and there is also a discussion board for practitioners working with family and friends carers.

You may also wish to consider ringing our free advice line which is for anyone whose child is involved with social care services, or is supporting a family in those circumstances. The number is 0808 801 0366 and the advice line is open Monday-Friday between 10am and 3.30pm.
