Just to let you all know that I have been recommended to be a kinship carer for my niece and she will be moving to live with me in time to start secondary school in September. I'm so happy that I've managed to get her out of residential care so she can settle down with me. I'll be a single mum going from having no kids to living with an 11 year old so it's still scary stuff but I just wanted to thank all of you that have offered me advice and support over this challenging time when SS tried every trick in the book to get me to apply for an RO or SGO before I'm ready.
Spex
Good news!

Well done, glad you stuck to your guns rather than be led down a route you wernt ready for. Good luck with your Niece, I hope you both have a smooth transition in to family life.

Great news, clairspex [:)][:D][:)] This is a huge change in your life, and scary stuff as you said, but you've fought so hard to take on the care of your niece and will be totally committed to her I know. I wish you both joy.
