Family Contact

My granddaughter has been place with my husband and I due to our daughters mental health. I have to give up work to look after my granddaughter as social services would not have it any other way I suggest. The baby's father was not in the picture. He refused to own up when my daughter told him about the pregnancy. My entire family has been supporting the baby's mother throughout the pregnancy until the baby was born. Then social services who refused to contact me for child protection meeting took my daughter to court. I had to get a solicitor to stop the process. The social worker concerned contacted the baby's father but he still would not come forward. She asked him to attend court he refused. However, after I have resigned my job, sold my flat because with no income I cannot pay the mortgage. The baby's father then went to court with a solicitor to own up.
This situation has turned the case round so much that it is causing stress for my whole family. The baby was born 9 months ago and still the baby's paternal grandmother has not visited the child nor seen the child. I was made to understand at the last child review meeting that she has gone to court to look after the baby full time. The baby's father only started visitng her in May this year. He told us that he wants the mother to visit the baby but not at my home. However, I am disagreeing with this as at the last review meeting the chairman asked us to allow the baby's paternal grandmother to visit the baby once a week at our home and that was agreed. The social worker telephoned me today to say the baby's father said that her mother will only visit the baby if she is taken to a child centre. I do not want this to happen and I want her to see the baby at my home where all the contact is taken place at the moment. I would like to have views on this injustice and am I right to stick to our original plan?
