Hi,
I am looking for help or advice on how should I get a residence order for my son.
His mum left the country in October after a traumatic process of going through our divorce and an order by the social services so to him moving to leave with me till further notice.
He lived with me for the last year and four months and feels great and settled. She wants to spend more time with him now and this summer holiday that is coming.
I don't know how to proceed and bearing in mind how angry she left and now insisting that he needs her and must spend his summer holiday in her house in the European country where is she from.
I have this feeling that for him will be more stressful than a quality time for him. How can I obtain a residence order if his mum is abroad..?? Would it be possible and what steps I have to take..??
Thank you very much for any advice and understanding.
Kind regards.
How should get a residence order...??

Please note the courts have now stopped making Residence Orders, as well as Contact Orders, Prohibited Steps Orders and Specific Issues Orders. All these issues are now dealt with by the court making a Child Arrangement Order.
We won't be able to answer any of your questions about this order here, since as others have stated it is a forum for family and friends carers. But the information you are seeking is about Child Arrangement Orders.
