Managing Contact book

Post by David Roth » Thu Mar 22, 2012 9:51 am

Family Rights Group's book Managing Contact is now up on our website. You can read it if you follow this link: http://www.frg.org.uk/managing-contact- ... rangements

The book is a research study of contact arrangements in family and friends care placements. It is based on interviews with carers, parents and practitioners, and also includes some quotes from this forum where people have described particular experiences of contact. It also includes a literature review, that was carried out by FRG's first ever chief executive, Jo Tunnard (I think the job title may have been different in the seventies).

I know that some regular users of this forum were interviewed for this study, so although all the quotes are anonymised you may be able to recognise yourself if you look at the book.

The study was originally launched at a conference last year, but the version now online does have a few changes to the books that were given out at last year's conference.

Big thanks to everybody who agreed to be interviewed, and whose suggestions helped us draw up the recomomendations that can hopefully help contact to work better for children being brought up by relatives or friends.
