i'm normally quite supportive of social workers, given my own positive experiences, but this case is just plain weird.

CAFCASS manager wanted to put my youngest grandson into care when he was abandoned despite the fact his full brother lived with us under a residence order and he had lived with us for his whole life until his mother took him for two months in an alcoholic haze.

He could offer no explanation for this other than the fact he didn't like us!

Maybe he didn't like where we lived either...

Wacky people damaging childrens lives I say. I remember when the ss had to come up for the reasons that they had for not returning the child to us and at a meeting the social worker said that we had a vicious dog and an electric fence. Anyway some laughed as it was fabricated nonsense and our solicitor asked "what about the cat? they can be vicious cant they" ? This was I think an appropriate response.
