Re: New user - case conference
I have mentioned this before but I will mention it again. I really do think that there could be reason here to involve the Official Solicitor. The role of the Official Solicitor is to protect the interests of vulnerable adults and children either due to their age or mental capacity. It seems your da...

Re: Adoption within the family?
RO's are a cheap option for CS, but are unlikely to be the right option for you or the child if there are difficulties over contact, repeated applications to the court by parents, or financial issues. Sorry to butt in. An SGO is more secure in that the parents are prevented from applying to vary/di...

Laura, you could ask them to show you the calculations they have used to reach the figure of £50. that way you will know for sure if they have done a proper means assessment or if they have just plucked a figure out of the air.

Re: advice on residence order needed
One further question I would like to ask is regarding what our options would be if my stepdaughter decided before we put any legal proceedings in motion that she was taking my grandson to live with her or if she came to take him out for the day but then just refused to bring him back. Perhaps David...

Re: advice on residence order needed
Just another thought. If you dont already keep a diary now might be a good time to start one. Log time/date/persons name of phone calls, details of any discussions (when, who with), text messages (who from, when). as well as any incidents that cause you concern. You may need to refer back to things ...

Re: advice on residence order needed
Hi Stew. Dont apologise for a long post, :) I think some sort of order would certainly be worth considering, not just for the reasons you mentioned but also because unless mum up till now has been compliant with signing permissions for medical treatment, schools and school trips or anything like tha...

Re: advice please
Hi Doris. Im pleased you are attending the FGC, hopefully a good strong plan can be worked out between everyone for whats best for these children. I have a couple of comments about your last post. The ss dept are adamant that we will only be able to take children under a short (3-6month) Kinship car...

Re: New user - case conference
Hi Sasha, I have read this thread with interest. I understand your reasons for not being able to take on the full time care of yuor grandson but I wonder if the subject of shared/joint residence (or joint custody if you like) with your daughter has ever been raised. It could potentially be an option...

Re: Contact Order
Thats the problem with these orders, they are very much a one way street. the order 'forces' you to comply with the conditions and imposes (if you like) punishments on you if you dont. the parents however are not forced in any way to stick to the terms of it and if they dont, other than further redu...

Re: advice please
Sorry to butt in and potentially confuse the issue, (Hi David :) ) There is a comment at the beginning that says that mum dropped the children off at a police station and hadnt been in contact for several months but is now back and wanting kids. That kind of begs the question where are the kids at t...
