Thank you, Suzie.
in this case, the birth father is, according to Children's Services, not likely to be considered as a suitable carer for Baby A. He is one of several casual contacts/clients of the birth mother - who was selling sex in order to get money for drugs.

Birth father
A birth father has been found for baby A., who is a birth half sister to our adopted granddaughter. Baby A is in foster care at the moment, having been removed from birth mother straight from hospital. Birth mother has had 3 previous children removed from her and the most likely plan is for A to be ...

Re: New Sibling
A birth father has been found for baby A. It could have been any one of three men. Two agreed to a DNA test. One refused.
One of the two men tested is the birth father, as far as DNA tests can confirm. No father is named on A's birth certificate.
What rights does this probable birth father have?

Re: New Sibling
A further update: The baby is doing well in foster care and will stay there until at least the Court date, some time in June. Our daughter and son-in-law's assessment by an adoption agency will start next week, with a face-to-face interview. The adoption agency is going to do all the required refere...

Re: New Sibling
It appears that Children's Services are going to be as dilatory over the placement of the new baby as they were with F's placement. F was in foster care for 10 months. Instead of the experienced social worker who spoke to T&M originally and assured them that Children's Services would expedite A'...

Re: SGO or adoption?
2021 UPDATE. F's Birth mother gave birth to another baby girl, a half-sister to F (same BM, different father), at the beginning of March 2021. Under an existing Court Order, this new baby was removed into foster care after 3 days in hospital. My daughter and s-i-l have been asked by CS if they will ...

Re: New Sibling
Thank you for your response, Suzie. As my daughter understands it, BM has been under continued assessment ever since F and her older half sister were removed from her care 7.5 years ago. Children's Services have made several attempts to get BM to a meeting aimed at arranging a visit to see one or bo...

New Sibling
Hi, I was a frequent poster several years ago, when my daughter and son in law (T and M) had F placed with them under an SGO that they later successfully changed to an Adoption order. F, who is a distant relative of our son in law, was taken into foster care at 5 months old, placed with T and M at 1...

Re: Ending a SGO
I don't know the circumstances and I'm not offering any advice. I just want to say that I'm sorry the SGO hasn't worked out for you and the child. I'm sure you didn't come to this decision lightly.
Best wishes.
Best wishes.

Re: CAN I REFUSE SOCIAL SERVICES REQUEST
I agree with Irene (ied53). Let SW know that you are doing a book that you intend to give to the grandchildren, and have been doing so for a long time. Supply SW with a minimum number of photos - they do not need personal souvenirs or heaps of photos - and request a deadline date for their return. S...
