<t>Hello All,<br/> <br/> Just wondering how easy it is to get a passport for our nephew who we have an SGO for and have had since December? He is 3 and never applied for a passoprt before, obviously we legally can take him out of the country for up to 3 months but do we need mother to consent to pas...

Child Benefit Query

My husband and I have SGO for our nephew so claim his child benefit. We are now expecting our own (first child), will that be termed as a second child in terms of the benefit system? Meaning that for our own child we will only get

Re: s/g/o how long does it take to go thro

<t>Alot will depend on whether the case is contested. We applied for SGO (residence order first) in Sep 2010 and were awarded in Dec. We were supported by social services so that may make a difference.<br/> <br/> We are aware of how quickly this went through for us but it is possible.<br/> <br/> pp<...

Re: SGO - reversal? Anyone know of this happening?

<t>Thank you for all of this - would a court observe us having a baby as a significant change in circs that would be detrimental to our little one? It was something I raised during the application process and it was responded to positively my SS who felt although there would be the obvious questions...

SGO - reversal? Anyone know of this happening?

<t>Having secured SGO prior to xmas and rcvd a guide from the court of 6 months no contact we now are getting the fall out of mother presuming that once she is 'back on track' she will simply get little one back. It appears as if all involved presume we are looking after him until she sorts herself ...

Re: Where has my Mummy gone - suggested answers??

<t>Thank you for all your advice - I am reassured that truth is the best option, his nanny (maternal grandmother) had relied upon 'mummy is in hospital' for a very long time which we actively discouraged. Things are of course made more difficult by a 3 year old whose response is continually 'why?'. ...

Where has my Mummy gone - suggested answers??

<t>Hi All<br/> <br/> Having secured our SGO with no contest prior to xmas - our nephew is doing well and has come on leaps and bounds since he arrived with us early summer. He has seen his mum around 3 times since then, all of which were sporadic and he witnessed huge arguments and distress at the l...

Good News

<t>Our SGO was granted on Friday with the proviso of no contact w birth parents for a minimum of 6 months. Little one arrived with us end of July and with support of local social services we have finally come through to the SGO hearing before xmas. Neither parent contested (they just ignored it).......

Re: get the police involved ?

<t>Always inform the police - it sounds like things have gone far enough. We were reproached for not contacting the police when little one was in the home surrounded by adults smoking weed and drinking, we informed SS who said if you ever feel that a child is in danger - call the police. They also s...

Re: SGO ALLOWANCE - our expenditure.what can we list ?

<t>We are hopeful for something...anything, we have been told that if this SGO doesnt go through for any reason little one will be in care and moved toward a closed adoption (no other options within the family)...it beggars belief how many of us are left with nothing so we will fight while we can, a...
