Re: Children's minister supports family & friends care
<t>young again, that's terrible. social workers like that should never be allowed. most of the one's i've come across have been great, and it has been clear that they're looking out for the kids. one said that parents and social workers just have different ideas about what's best for the children, w...

Re: Children's minister supports family & friends care
<t>my children were lucky because the sw brought them to me as soon as they were removed, and everything had been planned in advance. we still had an assessment, and it was 8 months before the residence order was granted. that's because the parents were so bad there was no need for the court to gran...

Re: Children's minister supports family & friends care
<t>i think it is going to be a difficult call to make in some cases. i a child has been harmed by their parents they could then go to foster care, and the plan should be that their next move will be their very last. if there are doubts about the family carer the sw then has to decide how to proceed,...

Re: Children's minister supports family & friends care
<t>when undertaking a study like this one would need to differentiate between foster carer SGO and family SGO as the dynamics would be very different. i would like to believe that when considering the making of any order that due consideration is given to the best intersts of the child, who has to b...

Re: Getting passport for nephew on SGO
you have everything that you need to be able to apply. mother's consent is not needed. remember, this is close to adoption and you can excercise your parental responsbility to the exculsion of everybody else with PR.

Re: Children's minister supports family & friends care
<t>i agree that it is unfair to tar all relatives and friends carers with the same brush, and i think that this czar may have been misrepresented. I think he is referring to cases where parents will throw every person that they can think of into the hat at the last minute, demanding that they are as...

Re: capping contributions
<t>i don't think this is the same at all. the government is talking about the accommodation and care offered by a private company employing strangers to care for our elderly relatives. we care for our children because we love them, they are a part of us and we have a moral responsbility to keep them...
